Route Type: Sport-bikes, tourers, cruisers, you name it.  This is a blast
Comments:
This is still one of the most popular venues for bikers and the effort the staff and management go to to make us feel welcome deserves loyal support.

It is still one of the best breakfasts.  All menu items are couched in Biking terms - Scrambler (Scrambled egg on toast), Tourer (Wors Patty, Bacon, Egg, and Toast), Superbike, Cruiser etc etc.. Great theme.

Check out the complimentary Sherry in Winter as well as the complimentary bucket of water and paper towels to wash your visor.  This is the only venue we have seen that has a road sign indicating bikes are welcome!

They even provide square steel plates to stop your pride and joy taking a plunge into the grass when you leave her on the side stand.

All the bikes park out front where you can watch them arrive and leave - feasting on the variety that frequent the place.

A great venue! Top Marks for effort!

Outward Bound:
  • From the Total Garage, Take the usual route R516 to Lanseria / Pelindaba and follow the road all the way until the T-Junction.  This is a nice piece of road, but be aware of the Vervet monkeys in the early morning.
  • At the T-Junction, turn Left to R512 Rustenburg/Broederstroom
  • Follow the road past Broederstroom and take the first road left marked Hartbeeshoek
  • Follow this road which will take you past the CSIR Satellite Tracking Station. (Most riders tend to view this as a high speed testing ground so watch out for flying 'Busas and the like.)  Also, watch out for birds on this road, they tend to feed at the side of the road in the early morning and often fly up into your path when startled.  Keep your lights on bright and try to give them a fighting chance of survival.
  • Follow the road until you get to the T-Junction R536 Krugersdorp / Hekpoort
  • Turn right and follow the road down "the mountain".   Be careful, this road surface is often full of diesel / oil / sand etc and is slightly off-camber.  We have seen too many bikes lying in the dirt to take this one for granted.
  •  At the bottom of the little pass, take the first road left to Bekker Schools.  Follow the road to yet another T-Junction.  Note:  this is often viewed as another high speed road but is not suited for hooliganism as the local folks walk down this road to Church / Schools etc and often walk in the roadway.
  • At the T-Junction Magaliesburg / Rustenburg, turn left and follow the few tantalising corners past Mount Grace (watch out for their entrance on the last blind left-hander).  Just before the left hand sweep, you will see Kumandine on your right hand side up the slope, across the road from Wicker Country Place - another Breakfast venue.
Going Home:
  • Go back the way you came or
  • Go back via Magaliesburg / Tarlton or
  • Go past the Bekker Schools turn-off and take the next turn-off to Hekpoort. This is one of our favourite return roads but should be taken slowly due to its narrowness and bumpy surface.  The road will bring you out to Hartebeespoortdam.

Take it Easy, Ride Safely and Enjoy!

See you at Breakfast!
